My Craft Site is being developed by Loud-n-Clear.com Ltd to provide illustrations and examples of aspects of web site design and e-commerce for crafters in the UK. We started working on it in conjunction with a series of Question and Answer pieces written by us for Craft Focus magazine.
Simply, it is a collection of examples of what can be done to showcase and sell crafts on the web.
Why do we need examples and case studies? Partly because it's much easier to understand things like administration systems when there's an example (and no business will leave its admin system open to the world to try). Partly also because business web sites change on a regular basis so that a nice example of a shopping basket might not be there next time someone wants to look at it.
We are the creators of the Internet Craft Fair, Britain's foremost directory of craft makers, teachers and suppliers. We've been involved in web design and e-commerce for more than ten years and have a wealth of experience, particularly within the craft sector.
